HF and Japan Housing Finance Agency
 to Co-Host 2026 International Housing Finance Conference 

- Experts from across Asia to explore “Demographic Change and the Future of Housing Finance”

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Kim Kyung-Hwan) announced on August 26, that it will co-host the 2026 International Housing Finance Conference with Japan Housing Finance Agency (JHF)* on September 4 at the Korea Federation of Banks Building in Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

* JHF is an incorporated independent administrative agency established in 2007 with funding from the Japanese government to implement Japan’s housing finance policy. Its programs include securitization to support long-term, fixed rate mortgages, as well as reverse mortgage products.

Under the theme “Demographic Change and the Future of Housing Finance,” the conference will examine how demographic shifts, including declining birth rates, population aging, and population decline in regional areas, are affecting the housing and financial markets. Participants will also discuss the role of housing finance in responding to these changes and the policy challenges ahead.

The conference will feature a keynote address by Cho Man, Professor at KDI School of Public Policy and Management and Sogang University. The program will also include presentations by ▲ Park Jin-Baek, Associate Research Fellow at Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, on “The Impact of Demographic Transition on the Real Estate Market and Future Challenges;”▲ Bang Song-Hee, Senior Research Fellow at HF, on “The Role of Housing Finance and Policy Priorities in Addressing Housing Risks Across the Life Cycle;”and ▲ Tadayori Nakao, Director-General of the Housing Bureau at Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, on “Housing Policy and Housing Finance in Japan.”

A panel discussion will follow, bringing together housing finance experts from Korea, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and other Asian countries to exchange views on the future direction of housing finance and the challenges posed by demographic change.

The conference will be livestreamed on YouTube* for anyone to watch and will feature a prize drawing for viewers who confirm their participation in the livestream.
