HF said, “It is possible that some of the floating-rate loan borrowers yet to feel the weight of the heightened rate burden as their interest adjustment period has not arrived. So, it is recommended to check the would-be rate in advance and not to miss the opportunity to switch to the New Relief Conversion loan.”

He added, ”With the recent surge of the interest in the New Relief Conversion Loans, phishing scam attempts impersonating HF are also on the rise. Therefore, it should be noted that HF does not recommend loans or ask application downloads via phone call.”

In the meantime, the application opens on September 15; where the existing mortgage lenders are the six largest banks* of Korea, the application is fielded at the concerned bank. If the loans are taken from the rest of banks or non-banking financial institutions, HF receives the refinancing application.
