HF offers senior care services for a happy retirement

- HF assists vulnerable older adults with organizing their homes, going on leisure outings, and using kiosks

- HF offers ‘senior care by seniors’ at their needed service level

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Choi Joon Woo) revealed on June 2, 2022, that it signed the ‘Agreement on HF Happy Care Service’ with Busan Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone (Director Kim Hyun Mi) and Korea Association of Community Senior Clubs (President Kim Jung Ho) <see image below>.

Under the agreement, HF, together with the two partner agencies, will provide 2,300 vulnerable older adults living in Seoul, Busan, and Gyeonggi Province with customized care services. These include ▲ housing care and regular health and safety checks, ▲ funeral portrait photo-taking and craft kit provision, ▲ smart device and kiosk training, ▲ contact-free exchanges via digital devices and applications, and ▲ quick home repairs and other housing condition improvements.

These senior care services are particularly meaningful in that they are carried out by other seniors (老老care)*. HF will hire 150 HF Caretakers aged 60 or over to provide the services at the level needed by the elderly living alone.

* Senior Care by Seniors (老老care): Senior care provided by healthy seniors to older adults in need of care due to illness or other reasons

HF CEO Choi Joon Woo commented, “I hope that our HF Happy Care Service will be able to help our senior citizens enjoy a stable retirement. HF will continue to carry out a variety of social contribution activities and build a social security network for vulnerable older adults.”
