HF works with Busan City for “Aging-Friendly Busan

-  HF, Busan City, and Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged sign an MOU to create an inter-generational, aging-friendly, happy city

- They implement four programs, including eco-friendly senior job creation and home safety checks for older people living alone

Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF, CEO Choi Joon Woo) stated on April 13, 2022, that it had signed an MOU with Busan Metropolitan City Government and Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged to support the elderly’s safe, healthy retirement and create an environment where younger and older adults can coexist <see the image below>. 

Under the MOU, HF will work with Busan City and the Institute on four separate programs: ▲ creating an inter-generational upcycling community, ▲ running outreach safety center for older adults living alone, ▲ enhancing the awareness on the elderly, and ▲ fostering inter-generational solidarity. Through these programs, HF will create jobs for seniors in need of income, do ancarry out emergency home safety equipment checks for older adults living alone, and operate a ‘giving back to the local community’ project with young people by leveraging seniors’ talents. 

HF CEO Choi Joon Woo commented, “I hope that this MOU will create jobs for older adults as well as an atmosphere where they can better communicate and interact with young people. HF will continue to build a cooperative system with related institutions to make Busan a city where older and younger adults can live a good life.”
